Why most people don't know their RI Circle
Bhulekh doesn't need it
Bhulekh (the most commonly used land records portal) is indexed by Khatiyan account number. You never need to know your RI Circle to look up your RoR, check ownership, or pay land revenue.
Not on most documents
Your Sale Deed, Patta, and Encumbrance Certificate do not show the RI Circle. It is sometimes listed in the header of the Bhulekh RoR, but not always prominently displayed.
Only needed for Bhunaksha
Since most people only use Bhulekh for day-to-day needs, the first time they encounter the RI Circle requirement is when they try to view their plot map on Bhunaksha. By then, they have no idea where to find it.

If someone in your village has already used Bhunaksha or has recently dealt with the Revenue Inspector, they will know the RI Circle name for your village.
Visit the Tahasildar office
