We are The Land Bankers
We are building a safer way to own land in India, both online and on the ground.
What drives us
Every decision we make is guided by these core principles.
We stand for the belief that
Land should feel like security, not stress. No family should lose peace of mind over unclear papers, silent disputes, or on-ground uncertainty. Every landowner deserves the confidence that their property is protected and their rights are clear.
Our mission
Is to make land ownership simpler, safer, and more dependable for every landowner, wherever they live. Whether you are managing ancestral property or a new purchase, we want to ensure that owning land feels straightforward and secure.
We do this by
Bringing government records into one clear view, helping fix missing documentation, involving experienced experts, and monitoring land on the ground so problems are caught early. We combine technology with human expertise to cover every angle.
The TLB Promise
Land records in India are rarely simple. They carry years of history. Legacy mutations, missing links, spelling variations, informal inheritances, and local nuances.
So we want to be clear about one thing:
TLB is not here to give false certainty.
- When something is straightforward, we will explain it clearly.
- When something is ambiguous, we will say so openly and guide you toward deeper review.
- We use AI to simplify records and flag early risks, but AI is only the starting point.
- In complex cases, we involve experienced human experts like former revenue officials, legal professionals, and on-ground teams, because land ownership requires context that technology alone cannot replace.
- When users report missing details or possible errors, we review them carefully.
- When experts clarify edge cases, the system improves.
- Each resolved case strengthens our understanding for the next landowner.
We are building an ecosystem where landowners can find help, experts can contribute knowledge, and the platform becomes more reliable over time.
Our promise is simple:
We will be honest about what we know, careful about what we don't, and committed to improving with every land and every lesson.
Because your land deserves clarity, protection, and respect.
Built with the support of builders
Land is a hard problem. It requires patience, trust, and a willingness to work through challenges that don't have quick answers. We are fortunate to be backed by founders who have spent their lives building businesses and appreciate the value of solving problems that matter.
The investment initiative backed by Zerodha, known for supporting Indian founders building long-term businesses across fintech, health, media and other emerging sectors.
A personal note from Amarendra Sahu, our founder
I grew up in Odisha. Land always held a special place for our people here. In good times, we worship it as mother (several Odia festivals like Raja, Akhaya Tritiya etc). In difficult times, it has saved families, be it funding daughter's marriage or son's education or a medical emergency.
I have also seen the darker side of land ownership, how it has broken families generation after generation on land disputes. There is an Odia proverb:
“ଯେତେ ଭାଇ ସେତେ ଘର”
A reminder of how inheritance often pulls our families apart.
Land sits at the center of our lives, in good times and in bad.
Yet owning land today feels unnecessarily difficult.
- Land documents are hard to read, and even harder to understand.
- Most of us don't even know what papers truly prove ownership.
- A single legal dispute can lock land up for a generation.
- Every land document looks bad until it's proven good.
- If you are living away from your land, the worry only grows.
The biggest of all, it emotionally hurts to think that our next generation may drift away from land, not by choice, but because it feels too hard to manage.
But I believe land ownership shouldn't feel this hard. Someone has to try to make it easier. That is why I started TLB to build an easier and safer way to own land in India. It's a problem I care deeply about, and we are committed to solving it with care and responsibility.
We are starting with my home state Odisha. If we get it right, we will take it across India.
Land ownership is messy in India. It's a hard challenge, but one worth solving. I welcome your suggestions, collaboration and feedback as we build it out.
May our land reassure us, forever.
Amar
